De-skilled?...
We recognise that today's Rehabilitation Worker requires an eclectic range of skills to be effective in their role. As such, we have developed a raft of CPD programmes for the established professional. We also recognise that there are many employment situations and it is easy to have the traditional practical skills eroded through the demands of day-to-day service delivery. To this end, we have introduced flexible learning programmes that enable the Rehabilitation Worker to re-gain those skills they may feel they have lost.
Programmes are designed specifically to meet the need of the individual but commonly involve the following aspects:-
Orientation & Mobility - re-learn the fundamental aspects and underpinning knowledge to regain your confidence.
Activities of Daily Living - Practical and theory of teaching techniques in the home.
Assessment - explore how to effectively gain the necessary information from your service users.
Communications - explore a variety of teaching techniques for IT, Braille etc.
Low Vision - re-learn the structure of the eye, low vision techniques and up-to-date treatments.
Adult Teaching & Learning - Recall how adults learn and explore how psychological theories can be used in the rehabilitation of your service users
These programmes are aimed at professionals who already hold a qualification and they assume a level of knowledge appropriate to that qualification.
If you are looking to upgrade your skills, you may wish to consider one of our Certificates of Achievement.

In order to maximise the learning experience, a minimum number of students is required to run each programme successfully. In the event of any postponement or cancellation, other programme venues will be offered as an alternative.
