What, can, how...?

Provision of Staff
| I want a RW that can do 'everything'. We are aware that some agencies provide staff who are unable to deliver a 'full' rehabilitation service, for example, they may not be able to provide orientation & mobility services or Braille. In our opinion this is unacceptable, our staff will be able to cover all rehabilitation needs of the agency. | |
| I only want an Orientation & Mobility instructor. This is absolutely fine! We recognise that your team will have strengths and weaknesses and after discussion with you we'll supply the appropriate worker. | |

My qualified staff are no longer able to deliver the range of rehabilitation training. This is not unusual - RW's are often coerced into other duties that results in a lack of practical experience in one or more areas of their training. This is not a problem, click on the training area of the site or contact us directly. |

How much does it cost? This is dependent on many things - the type of service you require, the amount of days per week, whether you want a short term provision or can commit to a longer term contract. Because of these variables, we ask for a short meeting to discuss your exact need which also enables you to budget correctly. |

What are your 'introduction' fees? There are no additional fees to pay! |

How long can I have someone for? The obvious answer is 'as long as you like'! However, this is where Provision Solutions differs from a staff agency. In all cases we present a strategy that will offer the best value for money, where an agency is asking for staff for long term contracts we endeavor to provide alternative solutions that may prove to be more cost effective. |

Do I need to interview your staff? Because we employ the appropriate person for the post there is no need for an additional interview. We have already undertaken the initial stages of recruitment and as we provide regular supervision for our staff, we are able to address any potential misunderstanding immediately. |

What if they don't fit in? In the unlikely event that this should happen, Provision Solutions will endeavor to find a suitable replacement as soon as possible. |

You're not on our 'preferred supplier' supplier list. This is not a problem. The list is primarily aimed to make things easier for the organisation to procure 'corporate staff'. There is provision for any authority to procure specialist services from sources not on the 'preferred supplier' list. |

I already use an agency that provides SW's and OT's. This is fine and our competitors have their place, however, if quality and value are important to you then you may want to re-consider. It is unlikely they understand the role of the RW, unlikely they are supporting the RW profession, unlikely they are able to offer the specialist insight into service provision, unlikely they can tell the difference between workers and unlikely they can view your service in greater context - would this be high quality and value for money? |

What about insurance? All of our staff are covered by Provision Solutions in terms of Professional Indemnity and Public Liability - documents are available on request. |

Do you have different payment options? Yes! You can pay invoices by cheque or use our BACS payments system. |

Can you find me a RW? We can act as an agent on your behalf but we believe there are other solutions to recruitment difficulties. |

Do you use 'part qualified' staff? No! There are no circumstances where will we supply what has come to be known as a 'part qualified RW' - all of our staff are qualified to do the job you want them to do. We do however, as part of our support for the RW profession, occasionally provide a student RW to support your service. In these cases we make it absolutely clear that the staff member is a student and will require the support of the agency as well as Provision Solutions. |

How can using an agency support the RW profession? A reasonable question and if you use an agency other than Provision Solutions it is unlikely the profession will be supported. Because of our extensive knowledge of Sight Loss Services and RW Training we are able to clearly explain the role and ethos of the RW to management staff who may have little or no experience. Our extensive range of services link us directly to the training providers keeping us abreast of all developments in the profession and our attendance at regional and national meetings enables us to pass on information. |
Training

Can you train our own non-qualified staff? The short answer is yes! If you have any unqualified staff in your team or other staff wishing to join your sensory services team then we can train them on our BTEC Professional Diploma in Rehabilitation Studies course - for more details visit the course section of the site. |

Where did your staff train? Our staff have generally taken one of three routes to reach their level of qualification - either a 'full-time' or 'part time' Dip.HE in Rehabilitation Studies or if trained pre-1993 a 'full-time' Certificate in Rehabilitation Studies. For more information on the content and detail of these qualifications please contact us. |

Why not use one of the 'big boys' for all our training? The larger companies offer good training programmes across a wide range. As you'll no doubt appreciate, a specialist training provider is more likely to be able address specific training requirements. In addition to our 'off the shelf' programmes we provide a custom service where training is developed to meet your staff and agency need. |
